As we fast approach summer, you will likely be going to the beach at some point. Whether you are heading abroad or along the Great British coast, you may be facing the age-old problem of what you are going to wear. Sure, you could grab that sexy bikini or that form-hugging one-piece, sandals, and a cover-up and be on your way, but if you are looking for something a bit different, we’re here to help.

Crop Top and Shorts

As an alternative to the more traditional bikini, why not try a cute crop top and shorts set. They are not quite as revealing and great for wearing to and from the beach, as you will never feel too immodest in them. If you are planning a trip abroad, this is also ideal because it takes up the same amount of space, roughly, as a bikini would in your suitcase.

Long Button-up Shirt

Rather than sticking to the more traditional cover-ups that you get, why not invest in a nice and trendy oversized button-up shirt. These are great because you can wear them unbuttoned with your bikini or swimsuit to show a bit of skin, or can be worn completely buttoned up when you are heading home or want to benefit from some additional sun protection.

Wide-Leg Pants

If you are looking for the perfect companion to the above, or just want something to wear that stops you from showing more skin than you would like, why not invest in a cool pair of wide-leg pants. These work well with all kinds of swimwear from bikinis and monokinis to one piece and everything in between. This kind of outfit can also function as a nice transition from beachwear to evening wear on those days when you don’t have time to stop back home or to the hotel to get changed before going to a restaurant or bar.

Little Denim Shorts With a Tee, Bikini, or One Piece

Okay, so this is one of those options that you need to have a certain amount of bravery to wear, but trust us, this will definitely get people talking and turn some heads. Like other ideas we’ve suggested, this is a great look to opt for if you want something to cover over your swimwear for when you are not on the beach. Pairing a cute little pair of denim shorts with a white tee or even using it as a cover-up of sorts for the bottom half of your bikini or one-piece creates an effortlessly cool outfit.

In normal circumstances, it’s worth noting, that little denim shorts may be a bit revealing in normal circumstances but when everyone is in their slinky bikinis and swimsuits, you’ll actually look more covered up.

Short-Sleeved Romper Suit

Although many are probably more familiar with wearing romper suits during the lockdown as a lazy way of getting dressed when you’re stuck at home, they actually work as a nice and breezy laidback outfit that will not look out of place at the beach.
